Icelandic professional football player Eidur Smári Gudjohnsen has been signed by English football club Stoke City until the end of this season, as announced yesterday. Stoke’s manager Tony Pulis intends for Gudjohnsen to play a big part on his team.

“Pulis told us that he intends to use Eidur a lot and build the offense around him,” Arnór Gudjohnsen, the footballer’s father and agent, told Morgunbladid.

Meanwhile, Icelandic footballer Gardar Jóhannsson will play for the Norwegian premiere league club Stroemsgodset this season and Emil Hallfredsson is on a season-long loan deal with legendary Italian club Verona.

Gudjohnsen, a former player of top European clubs such as Barcelona and Chelsea, was last signed by Monaco but played for Tottenham for a while on a loan contract.
