Charlton Athletic F.C. manager Guy Luzon is pleased with the performance of Icelandic player Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson, who scored a hat trick in the team’s 3-0 victory over Blackpool in an away game in the English Championship yesterday evening, comparing him to David Beckham.
“When we have set pieces Gudmundsson is like our Beckham,” Luzon said as quoted on teamtalk.com. “He knows how to score goals in this situation. He is a good player with a good mentality … We are happy he belongs to our team.”
Jóhann has scored eight goals in the Championship this season, which makes him Charlton Athletic’s second-highest scorer after Igor Vetokele.
