Icelandic footballer Sara Björk Gunnarsdóttir is number 43 on a list of top 100 women footballers of 2017. The list is created by award-winning football podcast “The Offside Rule,” and decided by 59 judges from aroudn the world. RÚV reported first.
Sara Björk has moved up 14 spots from last year’s list. The midfielder, who plays for German team Wolfsburg, was also recently named Iceland’s Female Footballer of the Year 2017. Freyr Alexandersson, Iceland head coach, calls Sara Björk “the best holding midfielder in the game. Sara wins almost every duel, she has really good vision and the strongest mentality.”
