As of yesterday morning, 700 Icelanders had bought tickets to the match but according to Ragnheiður Elíasdóttir at the Football Association of Iceland (KSÍ), 1,200 Icelanders are expected to attend with around 250 people making their way from continental Europe.

If Iceland wins the game, it will become the smallest country ever to play at the World Cup.

Maksimir stadium has a capacity for 38,000 whereas Laugardalsvöllur in Reykjavík has room for around 10,000 people.
