Icelandic Fish Cookbook World’s Second Best

The Icelandic cookbook Spriklandi Lax was rewarded as the “Second Best Book on Fish Cookery in the World” at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in Paris on February 11. Iceland Review’s editor Bjarni Brynjólfsson is one of the book’s authors.

The jury was impressed by the quality of the content of Spriklandi Lax, which features salmon recipes, the expertise of the writers, and the high value of the production of the book priced at a reasonable level, a press release states.

Spriklandi Lax was published by Salka and, coincidentally, another of Salka’s books caught the attention of the jury. Saelkeragöngur um París by Sigrídur Gunnarsdóttir was honored as one of the best books on French cuisine.

Furthermore, a third Icelandic entry Tempting and Tasty 2 by Yesmine Olsson with photos by Áslaug Snorradóttir, published by Brekka, was honored as one of the three best cookbooks on Asian cuisine published outside Asia.
