Icelandic Filmmaker Meets Adam Sandler

adamsandler-grown-ups-posterIcelandic filmmaker Gestur Valur Svansson recently had a meeting with American comedian Adam Sandler (from the 2010 Grown Ups) at the headquarters of his production company Happy Madison in California to discuss a business idea with him.

“I don’t want to reveal how I managed to get a meeting with Adam Sandler—I don’t want to ruin anything for myself—but I did it,” Svansson told Fréttabladid. Sandler, who is influential in Hollywood, is a busy man.

“He was very excited about the project I introduced to him but I was mainly presenting myself and my ideas,” Svansson said of the meeting, describing Sandler as a nice and funny guy.

The meeting was also attended by Danish actor/writer Casper Christiansen of the Klovn series. He and Svansson are looking into writing a screenplay together. “It is always surreal to attend a meeting with an Icelander,” he commented.

Christiansen said nothing had been decided at the meeting while adding that all meetings in Hollywood are good meetings.

In Iceland, Svansson is primarily known for having taken part in developing the popular Night Shift series.
