Icelandic Fighter Undefeated in Mixed Martial Arts

Gunnar Nelson, a 21-year-old fighter from Iceland, won against the Brit Sam Elsdon in a competition organized by the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts (BAMMA) in London on Saturday. Nelson has never lost a fight in his career.

Elsdon has a black belt in judo and ten years of experience in Thai kickboxing and was undefeated before his fight with Nelson, Morgunbladid reports.

Nelson won the fight in the first round after two minutes and 30 seconds by holding Elsdon in a so-called hegningartak, “punishment lock.”

In November, Nelson became a double champion in the Icelandic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu championship.
