Icelandic Fighter Gunnar Nelson Heads for Vegas

Icelandic MMA fighter Gunnar Nelson will meet the experienced Mike Pyle in the UFC 160 event in welterweight in Las Vegas on May 25. Earlier this month Gunnar beat Jorge Santiago, which was his 11th consecutive win after starting his career with a draw.

Both Gunnar and Pyle have verbally agreed to the matchup on May 25, and bout agreements are expected to be finalized soon, as stated on

UFC 160 takes place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Gunnar, who is 24, holds a Renzo Gracie black belt. Described as “stoic,” Gunnar is considered by many pundits to be among the sport’s most promising fighters.

Pyle, who is 37, has won his last three fights and six out of the last seven.
