Icelandic Farm Animals Healthier than in Europe

A new study shows that Icelandic farm animals are given less antibiotics than farm animals elsewhere in Europe. Hungary tops the list with 268 mg/PCU, compared to 8 mg/PCU for Iceland, on the bottom of the list.

Second on the list is Spain with 241 mg/PCU and third is Belgium with 180 mg/PCU. The country with the second lowest use of antibiotics is Norway with 11 mg/PCU, while Sweden, third from below, uses 15 mg/PCU, weekly Bændablaðið reports.
