Icelandic Equipment Measures Flexibility of the Spine

Icelandic start-up company MMT has developed and designed a equipment that measures the flexibility of the human spine, intended to use in treatment for back problems, which afflicts approximately 80 million people in the western world.

The next step for MMT is to market and produce the equipment. The company has already applied for a patent license in the US and Europe. Their goal is to have the equipment on the market next winter, ruv.is reports.

The Technical Development Fund of the Icelandic Center for Research (Rannís), which belongs to the Ministry of Education, sponsored MMT’s development of the equipment.

If MMT company proves successful in marketing its product, it could deliver considerable profits for the national economy.
