Icelandic Entrepreneurs Invited to India

Two Icelandic entrepreneurs have been invited to participate in the prestigious Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) held in Hyderabad, India next week. They are Sandra Mjöll Jónsdóttir-Buch, CEO and co-founder of Platome Biotechnology, and Guðmundur Fertram Sigurjónsson, CEO of Kerecis.

The summit is organized annually by the United States government, though this year’s summit is organized jointly by the United States and India. This year’s summit highlights the theme “Women First, Prosperity for All” and focuses on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally.

Around 1500 participants are expected from over 140 countries, all of whom were selected by the US Department of State or US embassies around the world. Projects are chosen based on innovation and social impact. This year, only 75 projects from Europe were selected.

Platome Biotechnology develops stem cell culture supplements and solutions to accelerate stem cell based medicine. Kerecis develops the unique, patented Kerecis Omega3 acellular dermal matrix transplantation technology to treat chronic wounds and the proprietary mOmega3 fatty acids in dermatological skin treatment products.
