Icelandic Entrepreneurs to Build Hotel in Glasgow

By Iceland Review

Icelandic twins and entrepreneurs (and former professional football players) Arnar and Bjarki Gunnlaugsson are planning to construct a hotel in central Glasgow, Scotland, in cooperation with other investors.

The planned four-star hotel will be erected on Bath Street in the heart of the city and have more than 50 rooms. “It is in the initial stages,” Arnar Gunnlaugsson, who is currently in Milan looking at furnishings for the hotel, told Fréttabladid.

Arnar Gunnlaugsson will probably supervise the project, because he spends a lot of time in Britain; his children live in Leeds. He also used to play with the Scottish football team Dundee United between 2002 and 2003.

The twins have been very active in the real estate business for the past few years. They have opened both night clubs and restaurants in Iceland and overseas.
