Icelandic Drag Performers Head to RuPaul’s Drag Convention

A group of Icelandic drag performers will be travelling to the United States to participate in RuPaul’s Drag Con next month, reports. The convention is one of the largest of its kind and will be held in Los Angeles, California on 11-13 May.

The Icelanders can expect a lot of traffic at their booth, as it will be located next to RuPaul’s own. Performers Gógó Starr, Deff Starr, Jenny Purr, and Atli Demantur are the queens in question, and will be accompanied by agent Bjarni Óskarsson. The performers are members of Drag-Súgur, a group which has been running an ongoing queer variety show in Iceland for the past few years. Sigurður Heimir Guðjónsson, whose drag persona is Gógó Starr, heads the group, and is known for being the only full-time drag performer in Iceland.
