Icelandic Crime Novel Award Goes to Stefán Máni

By Iceland Review

The first Blódropinn Award, granted by the Icelandic Crime Writer Association to an outstanding Icelandic crime novelist every year, was handed out yesterday, to Stefán Máni for his novel Skipid (“The Ship”).

The book will become Iceland’s contribution to the Scandinavian Writer Association’s Glass Key Award next year, Fréttabladid reports.

The jury concluded that Stefán Máni deserved the award “for making it difficult for the reader to think about anything else other than the disgusting crew of the terrifying ship.”
