Icelandic Company Sends Water to Serbia

Icelandic Water Holdings has donated 72,576 half liter bottles of water, worth ISK 15 million (USD 133,000, EUR 97,000) to flood victims in Serbia.

The water will be distributed by the Red Cross in Serbia. Around 400,000 people are without drinkable water and electricity.

“It is important to help in an emergency and we can assist by providing clean drinking water. That is the least we can do,” chairman of the company, Jón Ólafsson, said in a press statement.

The floods, which occurred in May, are the worst on record in Serbia and have resulted in around 30,000 people losing their homes. A large area of the country remains under water, visir.is reports.

Icelandic Water Holdings exports water under the brand Icelandic Glacial.
