Icelandic Comedy Series to Be Remade for US Audiences

Reveille Productions has acquired the rights to rework the Icelandic comedy series Nightshift by director Ragnar Bragason in an English-language version for US audiences. The series proved a huge hit in Iceland when it premiered in 2007.

Nightshift follows three eccentric gas station workers who only work nightshifts, all the crazy things they think of and the strange people they encounter while at work.

Nightshift is that rare international format that has American sensibility, and we’re eager to tackle another workplace comedy after the success of The Office,” Howard Owens, managing director of Reveille, told Reuters. “The show has a smart, ironic point of view, which we know will translate well in the US.”
