Beloved Icelandic actress Helga Braga Jónsdóttir, best known for her role in sketch comedy shows like Fóstbraedur and Stelpurnar will perform her monologue A Complete Guide to Sexual Misery in Britain next year.
Jónsdóttir will perform at a Nordic Festival in Liverpool next summer and possibly tour Britain with her monologue after that, Fréttabladid reports.
“The play has been translated and adapted to English,” Jónsdóttir said. “It will be very demanding to perform in English,” the actress added, who has never performed for a foreign audience before and said she is looking forward to it. “One has to carry on; Iceland is such a small country.”
Jónsdóttir premiered her monologue, which was called 100% hitt in Icelandic, at Ýmishúsid venue in Reykjavík three years ago and tickets for her show sold out every night of performance for an entire year. She has also performed in towns across Iceland.
The play was written by Austrian sexologist Bernard Ludwig and is a comical guide for how to have a miserable sex life.
