Young and promising Icelandic cellist Saeunn Thorsteinsdóttir, who has been praised as “charismatic” in the New York Times, held a concert at the Scandinavia House – the Nordic Center in America in New York on Thursday.
Thorsteinsdóttir has received many prizes and performed both as a soloist and a chamber musician around the world, including in the US, Iceland, Poland, Italy and France.
In her concert on Thursday, which was organized by the American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF), Thorsteinsdóttir performed classics including Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata in C major, accompanied by pianist Alexandra Joan.
