Icelandic Band Arrested in Germany

The members of the Icelandic band Bloodgroup were arrested when they were touring near Frankfurt, Germany, last week on suspicion of drug abuse and carrying illegal arms. However, they were released after two hours of questioning.

One of the band members Ragnar Jónsson said in an interview on the radio station X-id on Saturday that the arrest had been based on a misunderstanding.

However, they had neither received an apology from the police nor an explanation as to why they were considered suspects, reports.

Yet the police officers expressed their interest in watching Bloodgroup perform, Jónsson said. “But we weren’t especially interested in having them at the concert.”
