Ragnheiður Gestsdóttir was awarded the 2005 Nordic Children’s Book Award at an award ceremony at the Reykjavík Cultural House last night. Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, Minister of Education, presented the award.
Ragnheiður received the award for the young adult book Sverðberinn and received a special award in recognition for being both a writer and an illustrator.
