Icelandic Art Student in Toronto on Trial

By Iceland Review

The case of Icelandic art student Thórarinn Jónsson, who planted a fake bomb at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) in November, allegedly as part of a project for the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD), will be heard in Canada on January 22.

Jónsson has been suspended from OCAD. His case will be represented by Canadian lawyer Clayton Ruby, who is known for defending cases regarding freedom of expression, Morgunbladid reports.

According to earlier reports in Morgunbladid, Jónsson’s case was first heard in a Canadian court last month. He may be facing punishment for common nuisance and mischief interfering with property.
