Icelandic airlines Icelandair and WOWair have decided to tighten flight deck rules following revelations that Tuesday’s air disaster in the French Alps was the result of the co-pilot locking the captain out of the cockpit and intentionally causing the plane to crash.
Unlike in the United States, flight regulations in Europe do not require two crew members in the cockpit at all times.
Icelandair and WOWair are among the airlines to decide to implement the rule following the crash.
