“I am very happy, how could I not be. This is an excellent opportunity,” he told Fréttablaðið.

Producer Michael De Luca (Magnolia, The Social Network, Blade and Moneyball) will produce the film. Filming is scheduled to take place in Belfast, with rehearsals commencing in two weeks.

“I’m headed to Belfast to rehearse but then I’ll return there in the autumn and will be there for several months,” Þorvaldur said.

Þorvaldur graduated from Juilliard in New York in 2011 and has since spent most of his time living in Los Angeles.
