Icelanders value Nordic relationship above all

By Iceland Review

A new poll undertaken by the Nordic Council revealed that 69 percent of all Icelanders find Nordic collaboration their most valuable global relationship.

According to Fréttabladid, two out of three inhabitants in all Nordic countries believe the relationship between their nations is of great value.

In Iceland, 69 percent said they find future cooperation between the Nordic countries especially important. Fifty-two percent mentioned the European Union in that context. Only 23 percent named the USA, and 22 percent mentioned China.

Iceland and Norway are not members of the European Union.

The rest of the findings of the poll will be published today and discussed on a Nordic Council conference held in Copenhagen next week.
