Icelanders Ninth Happiest Nation

Icelanders are the ninth happiest nation, according to the latest OECD Better Life Index. Australians top the list for the third year in a row. Sweden and Canada are ranked second and third, visir.is reports.

The OECD report on quality of life covers 36 countries and looks at aspects including disposable income, employment, education, life expectancy and civil participation.

According to the report, 87 percent of Icelanders say they have more positive experiences in an average day (feelings of rest, pride in accomplishment, enjoyment, etc.) than negative ones (pain, worry, sadness, boredom, etc.) compared to the OECD average of 80 percent.
