Icelanders escape injury in plane crash

Two young Icelanders miraculously escaped unhurt when a single-propeller plane that they were in crashed soon after take-off at Oxford airport in the UK yesterday. The plane itself was in pieces, but the two Icelanders in addition to one other person of undisclosed nationality, walked away virtually unhurt from the wreckage. This is reported by VÍSIR online.

The two men, who are both learning to fly in England, were taking off along with an instructor when the plane’s engine failed, according to the mother of one of the men. An investigation further revealed that the accident was likely caused by a faulty engine and not human error.

The two Icelanders were obviously in shock, but were otherwise unhurt save for a few scratches and bruises.
