Icelanders Don’t Trust PM

Only 9 percent of Icelanders believe that Prime Minister and chair of the Progressive Party Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson is an honest person, according to new poll by MMR. Even fewer, or 5 percent of respondents, find that the PM has charisma.

Also 5 percent of respondents stated that Sigmundur and Minister of Finance Bjarni Benediktsson, who chairs the Independence Party, the Progressive Party’s coalition partner, are in touch with the public, eyjan.is reports.

Katrín Jakobsdóttir, chair of the opposition’s Left-Green Movement, towers above other politicians—47 percent of respondents in the poll think that she is an honest politician and 36 percent think she has charisma.

One third of respondents in the poll consider President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson to be a strong president and 30 percent think of him as a born leader.
