Icelanders create Hollywood Special Effects

A team of 15, under the management of Dadi Einarsson, is working on creating special effects for Hollywood films in the former headquarters of the Icelandic Telephone Company by Austurvöllur Square, in Reykjavik’s city center. Mbl.is reports.

Einarsson runs an Icelandic branch of the British advertising and post production company Framestore, which specializes in Computer Generated Images for commercials and films.

Next week, the group will finish working on British director Guy Richie’s latest film, which stars Robert Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as Dr. Watson. In the past year, the team has also worked on films by directors Spike Jonze and Baz Luhrman, to name a few. The next project is a film starring Angelina Jolie called Salt.

Einarsson has already worked for the company for ten years, both in London and New York, and when he decided to move back to Iceland this branch was founded.
