The contestants, who have all received organs, i.e. a lung, a liver or a heart, will be competing in various sports such as running, sprinting, table tennis, swimming and golf. Many will be competing for the first time in their lives.

The games will take place in South Africa in the summer of 2013. One of the goals is to raise awareness of the importance of donating organs.

Another goal is to demonstrate that organ receivers can live a fulfilling and active life.
