Icelanders are shopping more on the Internet than ever before reports the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, RÚV. RÚV reports that the increase is due to the low exchange rate of the US dollar and user friendly web pages. Icelandic web portal ShopUSA which offers Icelanders an easy alternative to purchase goods from the US is expecting a threefold increase in business this year. Iceland Post says that packages being sent from abroad have increased 60% since last year. Icelanders are mostly buying musical instruments, clothes, children’s goods, toys, computers, jewelry, cars and motorcycles on the Internet.
