Just over 600 people joined together to do handstands together at Laugardalshöll sporting arena in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Icelandic Gymnastics Federation, RÚV reports.
According to Guinness World Records, the previous record is held by the Braderie Comity of Wevelgem in Belgium: 399 people did a simultaneous handstand on September 17, 2006.
The Icelandic Gymnastics Federation is now submitting the necessary evidence to Guinness in order to confirm the new world record and have it recorded.
