Sunna Rannveig Davíðsdóttir and Bjarki Þór Pálsson became MMA European champions at the 2015 IMMAF European Open Championships in Birmingham, England, last weekend, mbl.is reports.
Sunna beat Anja Saxmark from Sweden in the last round of the women’s flyweight, while Bjarki beat Bulgaria’s Dorian Dermendzhiev in the last round of the men’s welterweight.
Saxmark and Dermendzhiev are the reigning world champions.
A total of 130 contestants from 30 countries competed at the championships.
