Icelandic athlete Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir was named the ‘fittest woman on earth’ after winning the 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games in Los Angeles yesterday.
Katrín ranked third before the last day of competition, whereas another Icelander, Ragnheiður Sara Sigmundsdóttir was first. However, Ragnheiður ran into trouble in the last event and ended up in third place, while Katrín earned the gold, mbl.is reports.
Among the men, the bronze went to Icelandic athlete Björgvin Karl Guðmundsson.
Icelanders have proven victorious in the CrossFit Games in the past too; Annie Mist Þórisdóttir stood up as winner two years in a row, in 2011 and 2012. However, she had to drop out of the games this year due to health reasons.
