Icelander Suspected of Online Racism Arrested

An Icelandic male in his 30s was arrested last month in relation to an investigation of the website which contains racist propaganda. On the website so-called “Enemies of Iceland” are listed, including Iceland’s President and the First Lady.

A picture of the Icelandic national flag where a picture of the swastika has been overlaid can be seen in many places on the website, Fréttabladid reports.

The man was released after interrogation, but a computer which was confiscated at his home at the time of his arrest is being investigated by the technical department of the police. Police have no other suspects at the moment.

The website has been closed. It was hosted in the US, which makes the investigation more difficult.
