Mountaineer Leifur Örn Svavarsson, who reached the peak of Cho Oyu, the world’s sixth highest mountain, last October will share memories and pictures from his journey with visitors to Salurinn in Kópavogur, a Reykjavík suburb, tomorrow night at 8 pm.
The Association of Icelandic Mountaineers and outdoor clothing store 66°North have prepared a special slideshow for the event.
Svavarsson became the sixth Icelanders to climb to an altitude higher than 8,000 meters; Cho Oyo in Tibet stands 8,201 meters. The journey was organized by the travel agency Adventure Consultants in New Zealand.
