The man had been travelling with two others through Europe and Amsterdam was their last stop. He had gone to an ATM machine to take out cash when the attacker came from behind with a knife and stabbed him five times in the back according to mbl.is. He was seriously wounded.

The man’s father said this morning that his was feeling unbelievably well. “He is packed with energy and in very good shape physically.”

The assailant has not been apprehended yet. Many surveillance cameras are at the scene and police are hopeful that he will be caught. They have said that the suspect may be a football bully from Scotland or Ireland.
