A new David Bowie video, released last night, is produced by Svana Gísla, an Icelandic film producer who has lived in London for 18 years, RÚV reports. The clip, called ‘Blackstar,’ is ten minutes long. It premiered on TV stations worldwide last night. The song it features is a longer version of the theme song from the television series The Last Panthers .
Svana has produced music videos for a number of pop stars, including Coldplay, Rammstein, The Rolling Stones, The Chemical Brothers and Sam Smith. Earlier this year, she was nominated for a Grammy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for the 2014 TV movie On the Run Tour, starring Beyoncé and Jay Z.
Svana was interviewed on news program Kastljós on RÚV last night where she described Bowie as a great professional and meticulous in all his work. ‘Blackstar’ is the title song of a new Bowie album, to be released January 8.
