Icelandic singer-songwriter Hafdís Huld performs the title song of the BBC’s Christmas film this year, which is called The Borrowers and is based on an eponymous fairytale by Mary Norton.

The song is Hafdís’s remake of the classic carol “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”.Stephen Fry and Christopher Eccleston play the main roles in the film, which is directed by Tom Harper. The Borrowers will be aired on Boxing Day, Morgunblaðið reports.
In other music news, Rósalind Gísladóttir, a mezzo-soprano from Iceland, placed first in one of the four categories in the recent Barry International Vocal Competition and earned the right to perform at a concert in Carnegie Hall in New York on January 29, 2012.
