On Friday night, the Bulgarian State Radio nominated Björgólfur Thor Bjorgólfsson, Iceland’s first billionaire, “Investor of the Year”. Icelandic National Broadcasting Service reports that Björgólfur Thor’s company, Novator, recently invested ISK 100 billion in the Bulgarian state telcom BTC. Earlier this year Novator purchased a 34% stake in the eighth largest bank in Bulgaria, EI Bank. EI Bank’s assets amount to over ISK 50 billion.
