Icelander Jailed for Attacking Portuguese Man

An Icelandic male in his early 30s was sentenced to eight months in prison by the Reykjavík District Court yesterday for an unprovoked and brutal attack on a Portuguese male in his 40s in central Reykjavík.

The attacker punched his victim four times in the face, according to ruv.is.

The victim suffered a broken nose, one of his eyes was ruptured causing permanent damage to his eyesight, which could not be repaired despite several operations.

The attacker has presented no defense, the ruling states.
