Icelander Convicted for Cocaine Smuggling in Argentina

By Iceland Review

A 22-year-old Icelandic man was recently sentenced to four and a half years in prison in Argentina for attempting to smuggle cocaine.

The man was arrested at the Buenos Aires International Airport in October last year for carrying 4.5 kilograms of cocaine.

The man received the minimum sentence for drug smuggling in Argentina. It is the man’s first offense, visir.is reports.

There is no extradition agreement between Iceland and Argentina.
