By Iceland Review

An Akureyri resident in his 60s, who would not be named, was the only player with six correct numbers in the Nordic Viking Lotto, as revealed Wednesday. The lucky winner picked up his prize; more than ISK 105 million (USD 1.7 million, EUR 1.2 million) yesterday, reports.

This is the largest prize ever paid out by Íslensk getspá, the Icelandic lotto company, as stated on its website.

Viking Lotto is a cooperation between Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Estonia. Íslensk getspá also organizes a weekly national lotto and the prize for tomorrow is fivefold; ISK 30 million (USD 489,000, EUR 345,000).
