Icelandair Reaches an Agreement with Pilots

The Icelandic Airline Pilot Association and Icelandair have reached an agreement over the salary disputes initiated by the union; the agreement was reached at 7 am this morning after 20 consecutive hours of reconciliation talks.

The Icelandic Airline Pilot Association immediately canceled the overtime ban that has disrupted air traffic during the negotiation process.

Kjartan Jónsson, the general manager of the the Icelandic Airline Pilot Association, was not prepared to make a statement relating to the new agreement at this point. He told Morgunbladid he was pleased with the results after long days of negotiation.

Union leaders will go through the new contract details with members before putting it to a vote.
