Icelandair Flights Canceled

Icelandair flights to Minneapolis and Stockholm were canceled yesterday due to a debate on wages between pilots and the airline’s board. The involved parties will meet today to try to find a solution to the debate.

The flights were canceled because Icelandair pilots refused to work overtime, Morgunbladid reports.

“I think all companies would be in trouble if their staff refused to work overtime and work on additional projects when necessary,” said Gudjón Arngrímsson, Icelandair’s information officer.

Pilots say they were simply following their wages agreement by not working overtime, which they say the board of Icelandair does not respect.

Arngrímsson was optimistic that the debate would be solved and that the Icelandair flights schedule would get back to normal today.
