The Iceland Writers Retreat (IWR) will be held for the first time in Reykjavík in April 2014.

The retreat, which runs from April 9 to 13, brings together published and aspiring book writers in the fields of both fiction and non-fiction to Reykjavík to work on developing the craft of writing, as stated in a press release.
Among the attendees will be New Yorker staff writer Susan Orlean and Pulitzer Prize winner Geraldine Brooks. The event includes workshops, panel discussions and tours, and will highlight Iceland’s rich literary tradition as well as showcase contemporary Icelandic writers to an international audience.
