China tops the list of the world’s most atheist countries, while Ghana is rated as the most religious country in the world. Iceland is the only Nordic country that makes the list of atheist nations, visir.is reports.

The survey was carried out in 57 countries and rates respondents in each country according to whether they claim to be religious, non-religious or atheist, regardless of whether they attend houses of prayer.

According to the survey, the poorer the country, the more religious its inhabitants are. Globally, the rate of religious people has dropped by nine percent since 2005, while the number of atheists has risen by three percent.
