Iceland with Highest Increase in Tourism in Europe

Iceland has continued to have the largest growth in foreign arrivals in Europe, according to a new report from the European Travel Commission (ETC). The number of tourists to Iceland increased by 30 percent in the second quarter of this year.

Slovakia is next on the list with an increase of 20 percent. Montenegro, Latvia and

Croatia follow with a growth of around 9 percent and Hungary and Poland with a growth of 7 percent.

Suffering from negative publicity earlier this year, Cyprus has experienced a 12 percent drop in tourist numbers.

According to an earlier report by the ETC, Iceland saw the most increase in visits by foreign tourists in 2012.
