Iceland Wins First Official Rugby Match in Iceland

The Reykjavík Raiders, Iceland’s first rugby team, won the first Rugby Union match in Iceland against the Thunderbirds Old Boys Rugby Club on Sunday afternoon. The final score was 45-27 with the Reykjavík Raiders running in seven tries to five.

The Thunderbirds traveled from Phoenix, Arizona to play the team and will spend a few days sightseeing in Iceland before returning home.

The Reykjavík Raiders have trained for over a year now but this was their first official full 15-man match.
