Iceland Wins Bronze at Hockey World Cup

The Icelandic national team in women’s ice hockey won the bronze at the Ice Hockey World Championship for fourth league teams which ended in Laugardalur in Reykjavík on Friday evening.

New Zealand claimed the gold and South Korea the silver, pressan.is reports.

More than 900 people were at the Laugardalur ice rink to watch Iceland’s final game against South Korea on Friday and cheer the Icelandic women on. South Korea won the game 4-1.

Iceland beat South Africa 5-1 on Wednesday, ruv.is reports, and ended the tournament with two wins and two losses.
