English-language weblog The Iceland Weather Report by Icelandic blogger Alda Sigmundsdóttir was nominated at the 2008 Bloggies Awards in the category “Best European Weblog” this week among four other weblogs.
After readers had submitted their recommendations, a jury selected the five best weblogs for nomination. It is again in the hands of readers to choose the winner. People can vote for their favorite until January 31 on the website of the Bloggies Awards, mbl.is reports.
The Bloggies were founded in 2001 to reward outstanding weblogs and blog-related websites in different categories, including Best American/Asian/European Weblog, Best Weblog About Politics, Best Weblog Writing and Best-Designed Weblog.
